Doug’s Dogs- Betty Davis

Due to the overwhelming number ofof submissions for the videos we’ve been doing, it’s been impossible to fit all the precious pups in there! But I’m such a softy and I think every dogs story needs to be heard, so I’m going to continue featuring the dogs that didn’t get to shine in the video. Next on the list is Betty Davis

The Betty Davis Story

Can you share Betty Davis’s story?

In October of 2011, we found the sweetest little 12 year old Senior Min Pin that was staying at the Nebraska Humane Society. She had been there for around 60 days. The fact that she was a little older, had a few minor health issues and required a few meds, I think scared people away from her. This is exactly what drew us to her. She needed a family. These were little issues that we decided we could absolutely take care of and provide her with a loving, happy retirement home for the rest of her life.

When we got Betty home, we immediately changed her diet to an all-natural diet. We visited our Veterinarian several times with her to try to determine if we could somehow lighten the medications that she was on. After determining that her new diet of fresh natural food was working wonders for her, we added exercise to her daily routine. She loves her walks! By doing these simple things, we were able to reduce her meds and cut down the high doses she was on. It made such a difference in her attitude.

Two years later, Betty Davis is enjoying life to the fullest! She loves her snacks, cuddle time, and her exercise. She also has two Min Pin Brother to harass. To see her transformation from October of 2011 to now has been amazing. She is our pride and joy.

What are some of her quirks?

Yelling and stomping her feet at us like a bull when she wants something, spinning in circles when she gets excited, bullying her little brother Benny, treats, treats, treats!

What are some of her nick names?

Betty Spaghetti, Sketti, Boo Boo

How has she improved your life?

She has brought so much joy and happiness to us. She has taught us that adopting a pet is the only way to go. These poor animals in the shelters need us, and we need them.
